Lahor Behavioral  Services provides 24-hour child outpatient care for ages 1 through 17. Our safe and therapeutic environment is ideal for treating acute mental health issues in adolescence. We recognize and understand the unique needs of adolescent patients dealing with emotional and psychological disorders.

Millions of teenagers across the country struggle with depression, anxiety and other behavioral health issues. It can be the most heart-wrenching and confusing time a parent will ever face. Maybe bullying, peer pressure, a substance use disorder or family issues are affecting your teen and holding them back from reaching the developmental milestones that will guide them into adulthood. 

Our experts are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for teens experiencing any of the following:

• Depression, sadness and hopelessness perhaps from being bullied at school
• Struggles with substance use disorders
• Self-harm, thoughts of self-harm or suicidal ideations
• Behavioral problems such as a significant decline in grades or skipping school
• Poor impulse control
• Mood instability
• Auditory or visual hallucinations
• Anxiety or panic attacks
• Hyperactivity, hypervigilance, paranoia or delusions
• Our Adolescent Program includes three service levels:
• Outpatient Program

In some situations, especially when teens are a danger to themselves or others, they may benefit from the comprehensive support and structure of outpatient care. During this period, they will receive the attention and treatment necessary to get back on a path of wellness.

The goal of our adolescent program is to provide stabilization of immediate concerns within a safe and structured environment. The treatment is short-term, with the primary focus being on the reduction of symptoms and overall improvement of functioning. Psychiatric or emotional disorders which may necessitate hospitalization include:

• Recent suicide attempt
• Current suicide ideation with lethal means and/or intent
• Recent history of significant self-mutilation or self-endangering behavior
• Post-traumatic stress; severe anxiety
• Assaultive or aggressive behavior
• Severe depression and hopelessness
• Bipolar disorder
• Psychotic behaviors impacting daily activities
• Substance abuse in conjunction with any of the above

Treatment plans and programs include comprehensive assessment, group therapy, medication management, and family involvement. A written aftercare plan is developed with the participation of the adolescent and family. It includes recommendations for further treatment, and follow-up appointments are scheduled as needed.
